A variety of stringed instruments and styles spice up Saturday's Jazz Caliente this week. Let's explore!

We'll hear seven string guitar and bandolim (Brazilian mandolin) from Trio Brasileiro, with Anat Cohen on clarinet.

Susie Hansen plays electric violin and leads her very popular Latin Band all over Southern California.

Guitarist Daniel Girón specializes in mixing flamenco, classical and Columbian music. We'll hear something from his most recent album "Prisma."

And don't miss Cuban cuatro master Kiki Valera and his Son Cubano performance for the Earshot Jazz Festival at Seattle's Town Hall on Oct. 26, celebrating the relase of his new CD "Vivencias en clave Cubana."

String along with Jazz Caliente this week!

Jazz Caliente airs Saturdays at 5 p.m. The show is hosted by Robin Lloyd and produced by KNKX Public Radio.

Originally from Detroit, Robin Lloyd has been presenting jazz, blues and Latin jazz on public radio for nearly 40 years. She's a member of the Jazz Education Network and the Jazz Journalists Association.
