The Jebena
In Ethiopian culture, drinking coffee is an extremely social affair. It's all about relaxing with friends and family. Seattle native Solomon Dubie wants to bring that to his Rainier Valley coffee shop, Cafe Avole. He gives us a taste of what it's like to drink from the traditional Ethiopian coffee pot, the jebena.
An Early Diagnosis
One of the hardest things a person might have to find peace with is the diagnosis of a life changing disease, like Alzheimer's. For sisters Tamara Cullen Evans and Lori Cullen, their diagnoses for Alzheimer’s came much earlier than it does for most people. They share what it was like to find out what was in store for their future and how they've tried to find peace anyway.
The Symphony Behind Bars
State prison staff and members of the Seattle Symphony have joined forces to find a way to give inmates a respite in a difficult times. A trio with the symphony performed recently at the Monroe Correctional Complex. 88.5’s Ariel Van Cleave attended the concert to find out how the performances affect the prisoners and the musicians.

In 1917, Seattleite Louise Olivereau was unhappy with America's decision to enter World War I. She circulated pamphlets that urged draftees to follow their conscience and consider the path of non-violence. Shortly after, she was put on trial for espionage. Historian Michael Schein talks about her story and America's legacy of patriotic dissent.
A Woman In Gold
In the course of World War II, many European families lost valuable possessions to the Nazi army. The Bloch-Bauer family went to court to regain one particularly valuable piece of art: a Gustav Klimt painting of their aunt, Adelle Bloch-Bauer.
